Welcome to our April event hosted by R-Ladies Rome! I’m Federica Gazzelloni, chapter’s organizer of R-Ladies Rome, and I’m thrilled to have you all here tonight. We’re also delighted to be joined by Silvana Acosta and Rafaela Ribeiro Lucas. Today, we have the honor of welcoming our speaker, Dr. Paula Moraga, author of Spatial Statistics for Data Science and Geospatial Health Data.

What is R-Ladies?

It’s now time to hand the floor over to our esteemed speaker.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Paula Moraga, Assistant Professor of Statistics at the University of Science and Technology - KAUST.

With a Master’s in Biostatistics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Valencia, Dr. Moraga brings extensive expertise in geospatial data analysis and health surveillance.

Her research has influenced policy decisions, addressing diseases like malaria and cancer globally. Dr. Moraga’s contributions include developing R packages for risk modeling and disease surveillance and creating educational materials.
