February 2023 speaker is Mine Çetinkaya-Rundel, Professor of the Practice at Duke University and Developer Educator at Posit PBC. Her work focuses on innovation in statistics and data science pedagogy, with an emphasis on computing, reproducible research, and student-centered learning. She is also involved in the OpenIntro project, co-authoring four open-source introductory statistics textbooks, and is a Fellow of the ASA and Elected Member of the ISI.

In the talk, she introduces Quarto, an open-source publishing system that is designed for scientific and technical content. Built on top of the R Markdown ecosystem, it provides a unified and extended platform for publishing technical content. She will be discussing and demonstrating how she uses Quarto for authoring, teaching, and collaborating.
