June 12, 2023 speaker is Dr. Simina Boca, statistician and data scientist who has experience in both academia and industry. She has worked in the analysis of omics data, population genetics, precision medicine, and early-phase drug development. Dr. Boca has taught courses and presented tutorials using R and has developed a number of R packages. She was a co-organizer for R-Ladies DC in 2021 and 2022.

During her presentation, Dr. Boca discussed the different stages of data analysis, offering expert advice on how to effectively organize and manage data science projects. She also delved into the importance of reproducible research, highlighting key principles and best practices for ensuring that research could be replicated and verified.

But that wasn’t all! Dr. Boca provided an introduction to exploratory data analysis, discussing basic principles and techniques for visualizing and analyzing data.
